Proofreading and editing are two different things. Proofreading is the last step before document goes to print. I do not edit. Proofreading is finding errors in spelling, punctuation, word usage and grammar. I adhere to the current edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. I use the Track Changes and Comments in Word, Google Docs, pen and paper and iAnnotate.
